Hawkeye was born and raised in the small town of Crabapple Cove, Maine. His mother died when he was only 10. Being an only child, he grew very close to his dad. Hawkeye, nick named by his father who got it from his favourite and only book that he ever read "The last of the mohecans". Hawkeye went to medical school at Absorbine Junior College. During Premed he worked for a packing company and was able to pack a 30 pieces china dinner set in 10 minutes, even less if they didn't mind having a 60 piece set. His Father Daniel Pierce, 62, has a private practice in Crabapple Cove.
During Hawkeyes childhood, he looked up to his older cousin Billy. He was like a brother to him.
His favourite colour is off blue and he hates mice.

Hawkeye is not a very military person at all. He hates the army and he hates the war. To quote Col. Potter: "Pierce is just humoring us all by wearing that uniform." Hawk jokes just about all the time, usually thats how he handles a bad situation.
Hawkeye loves playing a practicle joke, and sometimes takes it a bit too far. Hes usually accompanied by an acomplice (Trapper or BJ).

He has a fear of marriage and a reputation for being a womanaizer.
Hawkeye never got to say goodbye to Trapper and missed BJ the first time he left Korea.
Even though people often told him he was crazy or "a pistol" as some like to put it, nobody ever thought he'd actually lose it. But in Goodbye Farewell and Amen he spent some time in Ward D with Sidney Freedman, the psychiatrist.

Though he won't admit it, Hawkeye does have deep feelings for Margaret, this shines through at the end of part 2 of "Comrades in Arms", when Hawkeye confides in BJ as to what happened the night before in the abandoned hut.

Hawkeye is a very skilled surgeon, he cares a lot for the people around him and is a fun guy to know. He dosn't care about anyones racial status, especially in the operating room.
