Zale is a nasty violent little bugger. He is always brawling with someone over somthing stupid. Usually its Klinger hes rubbing up the wrong way.
Zale's wifes name is Hillda, he broke his hand punching a post when he found out she cheated on him. All the while he was cheating on her though. He confided in BJ about it, and BJ agreed to help write him a letter, thinking he was the vicitim. When BJ finished the letter he went in search of Zale, all he needed to do was sign. He found out from Radar where Zale was ... he was with his moose (not the animal, but a Korean lady friend) just out of camp. Cheeky bum.
Zale mentions that he put his wifes brother through college and paid for every tooth in her mothers head. So I guess you could say Zale wasn't some poor bum, but he wasn't rich either.
